Tony Calif wrote:So sick of it. Everygame I play I'm alone. I can't play this garbage any more. The games imbalances are jut too many. Also can you yanks gtfo of the EU server? People wonder why hit detection is off...
Hit detection is off, lag is bad, FPS mechanics are sub par. People say to me "it's a beta" but I have still not see a true meaningful improvement so when are the true fix coming?
Oh and I can't play either because I have lag on my EU servers and I have 100mb connection wired! I can play any game on US/ASIA servers with minimum lag but I can't play Dust 514 properly on server that are near to me.
I will be able to fully use Gaikai and have PC games on my PS3/PS4 with very little latency & lag but I can't play Dust 514. |

Ok Vane KoS first let me say that you should buy other PS3 title; don't limit you library to Dust 514 which frankly is not even on par with any FPS on PS3. PS3 exclusives made by Sony studios are all worth your money (Uncharted series, inFamous 1 & 2, Killzone 2 & 3, God of War 3, Little Big Planet 1 & 2 are all must have IMO + Flower & Journey.) also buy Batman Arkahm Asylum & City. Second buy co-op games like Lego Star Wars: they are designed for kids but I assure you they are fun for the whole family and are not as skill demanding as FPS...even if Killzone 3 has local co-op and it's great.
Welcome to the PS3 experience. |

Jace Kane wrote:People like that just don't know how to play real shooters anymore.
They've become spoiled by modern shooter hand holding gimmicks: Lack of dealing with/finding defensive stationary targets - Kill Cam Lack of territory defense/momentum skills - Being spawned away from the enemy to seemingly random positions lol Lack of team skills due to K/D stat focus (promotes solo play) Lack of patience/survival skills, just bum rush 24/7 pew pew - Health regen Don't even get me started on killstreaks, deathstreaks and mini-maps showing exact positions on map of where someone is shooting. Get out of here with that crap.
Put those kind of people in a shooter that has high learning curve and it doesn't end well for them. My bad, shooters these days are about selling entertainment. Well, that used to be the entertainment, the learning curve. Now it's just getting rewarded for doing bad. Signs of the times I guess.
I missed this before but I wuld like to say something:
- Holding hand gimmicks are bad and the worst of all is active aim assist...guess what: we have it in Dust 514.
- Killcam are a necessity to punsish campers which are not skilled players.
- Spawning is done badly in nowadays shooters and few did it in an acceptable way: probably Section 8 is the only FPS to my knowledge nowadays that allows free spawning which is the only good Spawning system IMO (it also have all sorts of countermeasure to not make it cheap so)
- K/D ratio encourage lone-wolfing & camping: I don't care about K/D ration and I DONT'T CAMP, nor even when I am a Sniper.
- Survival works in some FPS but not in every FPS...arcade FPS are not about survival, tactical/military FPS are.
- I don't use the HUD in FPS (if I can turn it off) and I use sounds to find enemies: hell I find cloaked snipers in Killzone easy!
Also really where are these mini map users in FPS or in soothers in general? I met too many players that where so incompetent that could not find, on the mini map, an enemy that was shooting 3 meters away form them! Rest assure a lot of players are not good enough to use the mini map to their advantage!
- Final note: all games have a learning curve, some are more demanding some other aren't, and no game is enough to make you a good player.
It takes years and dozens of FPS to be a good FPS player and you need to play all kinds of FPS...hell even play all kinds of games to learn other tricks!
